Following Jesus

Realize God’s purpose for your life is to know Him or have a relationship with Him. Jesus said, in John 17:3, “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

The problem is we are all sinners by nature and by choice (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3)

We have all broken God’s laws, and our sin separates us from a Holy God, which will result in hell when we die (Romans 6:23).

God sent His son, Jesus, to take the penalty for your sin by dying on the cross and rising from the dead (Romans 5:8; 1 Cor. 15: 1-3).

He punished Christ so He would not have to punish you eternally (2 Cor. 5:21)

If you want to receive the gift of eternal life that you cannot earn by your good works, all you need to do is:

1. Admit your sin and turn from it (Acts 26:20)
2. Ask God to save you by trusting in Christ’s death and resurrection as the payment for your sin (Romans 10:9-10; 13)
